  • A type, true believer office people.

It’s all laid out, you have at most 100 years and 50ish healthy ones if you’re extremely lucky, and you want to spend more energy then you absolutely have to… micromanaging others and bragging about maximizing your office work output as you eek out a living?

I genuinely find the coworkers that try to drown themselves in corpo kool-aid disturbing. Soulless. I find them as sad and pathetic as they probably find me for my half hearted, clearly mocking impression of corpo culture, as I don’t show my true self at work.

Like just… Why? It’s a job. The owner truly doesn’t care if you live or die. Stop bragging that you canceled on your family yet again in favor of your "work family."🤮 They think they’re setting an example for their coworkers to follow, but I’m just sitting there pitying them.

"If you’re looking for self-help, why would you read a book written by somebody else? That’s not self-help… that’s help. There’s no such thing as self-help. If you did it yourself you didn’t need help. Try to pay attention to the language we’ve all agreed on. "

As if Hollywood hasn’t been completely monopolized and enshittified to the point that they no longer seem capable of making anything worth watching.

Fuck David Zaslav for leading the enshittification charge in this particular economic sector, by the way. Plastic faced, greedy ass, anti-union, anti-creative fancy lad ghoul.

  • Find something to hate all you want, but the major Bethesda releases into today with a bunch of mod profiles could keep me in offline paradise for decades.

And it’s a bitch to get working right, and takes mods to do so, but you get Skyrim VR the working properly, and you won’t miss any of the modern live service bullshit.

    Thank you sincerely!

When one of your hobbies becomes finding new and interesting ways to make the same points at clouds and brick walls on the internet, as mine has, you come to find efficiency in eloquence.

It helps me to at least feel like I’m holding onto my sanity in insane times.

I never didn’t when I reached the age of reason and saw the social tolerance celebration worship of unchecked avarice as the core rot in our civilization for what it is.

Im glad so many are finally overcoming their capitalist “greed is rational and your lessers have to lose for you to win” programming, even at this late hour as the capitalists burn the very world under our feet… and your grandmother who needs a hip replacement or chemotherapy alive… for another nickel on their sociopath hoards.

Do we want a society… And all the benefits that being an actual society with a functioning social contract entails? Or do we want to continue to be a bunch of temporarily embarrassed millionaires pathetic mark suckers at each other’s throats tearing eachother down over scraps and false promises (hard work will be rewarded! Consumption will make you feel better! The odds are ever in your favor!) so we never look up at our owners?

Also, only about 28,000 hundred-million-plus-inaires on Earth.

For perspective, significantly more Palestinians have already been casually genocided by our bestie trade partner in that current conflict.

The blight upon our civilization of billions is not that large.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/10/number-of-people-with-100-million-has-doubled-since-2003.html

I’m not even suggesting they be adjusted, because I’m not a sociopath like they are. Use an economic guillotine, confiscate their exploitation gotten hoards for the commons(yes nationalize essential industries like utilities and Healthcare so they’re owned by society), reshape the economy to stop rewarding speculative gambling with exploitation gotten chips over honest labor and vocations like teachers that keep civilization running, obviously institute a maximum wealth cap as other people live in this society going forward to prevent recurrance, bring their ego scores to zero for their murderous greed, let them keep $20 and give each of them a set of literal, cheap bootstraps, and let them get a real job.

Bar them from forming any kind of corporate entities or investing in anything other than a standard savings account for life, just as people convicted of computer crimes are sometimes barred from operating computers as they’ve proven they’re a danger to others with them.

I’d be shocked if half of them didn’t take themselves out of the equation suddenly being subject to the same reality as their current livestock.

  • As someone who’s also glad, the falsehood that we get what we deserve after we die is a very harmful one.

Justice doesn’t come naturally or in some fairy tale afterlife. Justice came to Brian because someone else saw to it that it did.

The world would be a better place if people weren’t deluded into believing the universe or some imagined deity will make things fair. It’s a very pretty lie, but it has equally ugly consequences.

If we want a just world, we need to make one. It won’t be handled off screen for us. This life is all we get.

  • In a perfect world, someone with Brian’s insatiable, murderous greed disease would be put in a psychiatric hospital for public safety, along with every billionaire and hundred million plus inaire that treats society as their exploitation piggy bank, not that many people, but the sociopaths run the asylum here.

This is a class war, whether you choose to show your belly and say thank you for trading your life for their profit to your enemy or not. Brian was an enemy combatant of this class occupation.

    Fuck no.

The answer to capitalists demanding more desperate slaves isn’t to provide them more desperate slaves.

It’s the opposite. For all the power the global oligarchs have over all of us, it’s one of the few things they’d have a great deal of difficulty forcing at gunpoint, as that just makes a stronger case for a mercy coat hanger abortion (since they’ll be outlawed everywhere sooner or later to feed the needs of the glorious capital markets) later on.

Dont forget, before the attempted coup, the government tried extend the work week from an already draconian 50 to 70 hours.

Making the young pay for the sins of the old and their greed/growth/metastasis disease. It’s sickening. It’s the opposite of planting trees whose shade you’ll never sit in. It’s malice towards any future because your time is up and want the world to pay for your bitterness.

It’s what global capitalism has lowered our species to. “have kids you can’t afford to take care of me in old age for a subsistence wage, burn up your lives in my honor, me me me!”

As someone forced to take care of an abusive parent until they grew too weak to physically hurt me over the course of my childhood and teens, I very much intend to put a gun in my mouth before I’d let my eventual, inevitable decline become any younger person’s problem, whether my own child or not. I think anything else is the height of selfishness.

  • Lawlessness is better than what we have, laws that serve a couple million at everyone else’s, hundreds of million’s expense with no legal recourse.

We get no say in economic policy or regulation, only the how or if to address some of the social issue symptoms of that economy through our legally bribed parties. Arguing over abortion’s legality instead of why productivity per worker has multiplied while the owner class now demands 2 breadwinners in most cases to survive, which is why most abortions happen, not enough to survive. But we don’t legislate the “free” to die in the streets alone market, so the argument becomes forced births or not. The argument should be to fundamentally change what our economy should be oriented to reward like teachers and nurses, and punish like insatiable, sociopathic, antisocial greed and vocations/investments that hurt society for individual profit. But both major parties are well bribed to say that’s evil socialism and tar and feather anyone who would dare say that to either of them.

Our system is already worse than lawlessness, our system is laws made by the wealthy (see ALEC) to extract the very lives from the poor for private profit, that the poor must simply suffer to remain lawful. It is effectively one way lawlessness from above. They can kill you with a dictate to their sycophants to deny more claims while sipping expensive bourbon on a beach, or by ignoring an expensive product safety issue, or by lowering inspection standards to save a buck and poisoning baby formula, and you and/or your baby can die quietly now that they have your money. That’s the law here and now.

Makes lawlessness seem pretty attractive given the current intransigent oligarchy killing us for profit legally…

  • Very much disagree. This was the responsibility of the firearms master and barring that the prop master.

As an actor on a professional set, it would be irresponsible to mess with a potentially dangerous prop in a way not indicated by the individual in charge of it. It could be a specialized gun modified in such a way that trying to remove a round makes a specialized effect charge go off. Way to go Alec. Now we need to take a 2 hour break as the prop master resets your fuck up when you were supposed to set off that smoke charge pulling the trigger.

It’s the actor’s job to get into the moment and act, there are other roles explicitly in charge of on set safety. Their prop master failed at their job. A professional pretender is one of the few situations where it is not their responsibility to actually know everything about what they’re supposed to be pretending to do.

It isn’t an actor’s job to send a sample of sugar glass to a lab to make sure it’s safely fragile enough to throw a co-star through, or rip open the foam bag they’re supposed to push a Co star “off a building” into to check for sharp objects. Such a disruptive actor wouldn’t get very far in their career.

  • For schaudenfreude. Capitalism would collapse without the schaudenfreude of enforced inequality.

Almost everyone trained to worship capitalism is always taught to see their worth as a function of how badly other people are losing. That’s why homelessness is an expensive problem we choose to pay extra for.

Studies have shown that all the conditioned shelters, programs, and cleanup are far more expensive than just providing conditionless basic housing for everyone without. But the homeless serve an essential purpose under runaway capitalism that takes control of a society instead of being a lowly tool of it: Capitalist Scarecrows and to look down on and fear becoming.

How can I feel rich if there aren’t poories dying in the streets?

  • Exactly, it’s not about the broken people doing unspeakable things.

It’s about stooping to their level as a society, about being loathsome enough to demand an eye for an eye instead of being compassionate in the face of cruelty.

Honestly, you show me a serial killer, and I’ll show you someone who almost certainly has clinical sociopathy in addition to other diagnoses which means they belong in a maximum security psychiatric hospital for the rest of their lives out of public safety, just like the sociopaths who hoard extreme levels of wealth to buy politicians and hurt/murder people through policy beyond their single vote for private profit who are clearly mentally ill should be.

The thing about the US though, is that we are a bloodthirsty, vengeful, schaudenfreude addicted society.

I’ve heard my fellow Americans wish death upon the homeless without the slightest bit of shame, whose only crime was failing to be good capital batteries, on the basis of lowering property values.

It’s true no society should be judged by their elite citizens, but by how we treat our prisoners. By that metric, there are few societies lower than ours with the world’s largest, often for profit prison population provided virtually no rehabilitation and literally set up to fail when they get out.

We are a monstrous nation. Not the only monstrous nation by any means, but up there with the worst by the scale of cruelty inflicted.
