So the game became less predictable?

Reddit was awesome. It’s sad what became of it.
Started in Lemmy but kbin’s reputation system woo’d me over!

Gaming@beehaw.org•Male players: Why do you play female characters?
1·2 years agoDidn’t cross my mind that someone would suggest that I’d be trans (just) because I want to play female characters too (and sometimes robots and others).
The thought alone feels so strange to me (to me personally)!Of course a joke is a joke and OK in my case (when the intention is good) but if someone insisted that I’m a trans based on my game characters only, I would get upset.

Since there are customization options for males too - why would you choose an ugly person, if you wouldn’t like to look at them?

Gaming@beehaw.org•Male players: Why do you play female characters?
3·2 years agoI wanna experience what it’s like to have less rights
How many games make beings behave differently around females than males?
I’ve played lots of different games and I don’t recall my lady characters having less rights in any of them.I think it’s easier to find different gender behavior towards your characters in tabletop or text roleplaying games, where the player has much more freedom over their characters, NPC’s and the world around them than over videogames people have coded to behave in a certain way and a certain way only.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Male players: Why do you play female characters?
7·2 years agoThis is the part that starts feeling epic for me.
When your character starts feeling deep enough that you start creating a personality to them.I don’t recall me making as deep personalities on males than females.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Male players: Why do you play female characters?
11·2 years agoI was once handed a princess to use as a playable character in my first text-based chat roleplaying game with 3-5 other people of girls and boys.
It quickly grew on me and I started using girls more often as my playing character from then on.I won’t deny that looking at them could be generally nicer, but I believe it’s not the main reason. At least when it comes to text roleplaying, I like to (try) think and behave like a lady in games, to roleplay in their world of view. It’s neat in its own way and I love the immersion when it hits me!

It’s one of the reasons I created Morbid Curiosity in Kbin, to push things a little towards such material!

2·2 years agoMight check/read/write messages when I wake up.
If I’m home all day, I don’t use the phone much.
While going somewhere I usually listen at music at least, might read/write messages or uncommonly play a game.
Might read/send messages wherever I am, when convenient.
While going somewhere with the bicycle I usually listen at a podcast, call someone or listen at music.
When paying bills or otherwise dealing with moneyz, I use the two way auth on the phone.
In the evening, usually at bed, I do three diaries and then go to sleep.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Alright, I'm gonna "take one for the team" -- what is with the "downvote-happy" users lately?
12·2 years agoI’d argue that having a negative reputation could affect (some) people’s behavior here as well.

41·2 years agosomething completely insignificant like internet points
Nothing has any value until someone gives value to something.
I give value to my reputation points - it’s a force that drives me further into coming up with and posting content 😁 And sometimes I enjoy comparing my points to someone else!
I started fediverse with Lemmy but moved to kbin pretty much because of the reputation system being here.Don’t get me wrong though - I don’t care that much about downvoting and I don’t let it affect negatively on my behavior. At the end of the day, regarding other people in the Internet has more value to me than Internet points 😌

Games@sh.itjust.works•From design to game without coding - "...and this is the part where I'm starting to look for a new job"
32·2 years agoIt’s always tough when a job you enjoy diminishes.
And if you cannot find any other place to do a thing, then you need to look for something else.Luckily though, there can be many other and as interesting opportunities ahead!
Then again, doing a complaining comment in Twitter so Twitter users can see it, and then going to another service provider while trying to lead users from Twitter to use that other app…

I wonder what this means 🤔
