Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What weird food or dishes do you eat regularly at home that you would never serve to someone else?
1·1 year agoIt’s spicier than most, yes. They launched the sauce back when ghost was still the hottest pepper in the world, and went overboard using extract.
I love the taste of ghost pepper though. It’s a pleasant taste with a linear burn curve that hits straight on. Not like reaper, which lures you into having too much and then rapes you.
My overall favourite pepper is chocolate habanero. Its just the tastiest of them all.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What weird food or dishes do you eat regularly at home that you would never serve to someone else?
132·1 year agoToast, mayo, fried egg, salt. Then a liberal amount of Dave’s ghost pepper sauce on top, like a teaspoon.
I’m the only person I know of who will eat this specific hot sauce. Other hot sauce lovers will not touch it, because it tastes like capsaicin extract and poison. But I’m weirdly addicted to it. I own better tasting sauces but they don’t scratch the itch the right way.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What metrics are deoderant companies using to calculate their "72hr protection" numbers?
10·1 year agoWhy would it be wrong to use daily? Many people shower daily and use it as shampoo.
I know of only one field that is specific enough like that. Carolynne?

cats@lemmy.world•This is my battle scarred idiot cat. He likes to bring animals inside and promptly forget all about it.
41·1 year agoYeah, no. That’s not a thing where I live. It happened 5 years after he was neutered and came with other scratches and bite marks as well.

42·1 year agoHe was in the bowl for less than a minute, then let out in the garden while the cat was locked inside for a while.

cats@lemmy.world•This is my battle scarred idiot cat. He likes to bring animals inside and promptly forget all about it.
49·1 year agoHe has a cat door, he comes and goes as he wants. If you run him over, he’s run over. That’s the reality of outdoor cats.
He never killed any of the animals he brought inside. If he suddenly starts killing stuff, I’ll probably reconsider.

cats@lemmy.world•Got a package and left the tiny box on the bed. Now it's her box.
141·1 year agoOrange females are very unusual. For it to happen, the father needs to be orange and the mother orange or tortoise (which is a female-only color mix of orange and black). For a male orange to happen, any parent may have orange genes.
She’s very pretty!

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Apple's A18 delivers solid performance gains, challenges Ryzen 9 9950X in single-core Geekbench
0·1 year agoWhat is Intel doing? A 12W CPU should not be faster than their 125W flagship. Single core performance is what matters the most in a lot of usage scenarios.
Intel is still on 10nm lithography. Did they stop investing in R&D and machinery a while back? AMD is on 7, Apple on 3.

80·1 year agoA bug or whatever in their 13’th and 14’th gen CPU’s makes them slowly but permanently degrade and cause crashes. Intel have not been handling the issue as you would hope since the discovery. Denying, downplaying, refusing a recall, refusing extended warranties, the lot. Now the lawsuits are cooking.

1·1 year agoBe wary though, it might get your domain blacklisted for spam. I’ve been lucky so far.

8·1 year agoThat’s what I’ve been doing since 2002. If I get spam, I set up a forward to their customer service.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you don't work IT, retail, or food service what do you do for work?
1·1 year agoYes but only to people who lack doors, so you can’t knock anywhere and go out of business.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you don't work IT, retail, or food service what do you do for work?
1·1 year agoSo door-to-door salesman?
Yes, potentially. It’s still going strong after 22+ years of me doing this though.
I have been using catchall on my domain since 2002. I have never told anyone any of my real accounts. When I have to send an email, I just add that account (change@ whatever), send the e-mail and delete the account afterwards, rebanishing the company to my catchall. I’ve had it scripted for ages.
When I do get an unsolicited email from let’s say ShittyCompany Inc, I set up a rule to forward all incoming shittycompany@(mydomain) emails to info@ shittycompany. This way they just spam themselves. Takes 2 seconds to run the script and I never see emails from shittycompany again.
Holy shit, I haven’t read the book but still thought the trailer gave away too much. Had to pause it.
I will definitely watch the series though!

I use Outlook for work. We host our own exchange server and don’t use any webmail though, so I guess that’s why everything works as normal?
