News@lemmy.world•President Biden pardons his son Hunter Biden
1·11 months agoJust like Biden pardoning his son while he’s clearly guilty of the charges. Hunter is not being politically hunted, like say, Trump. Who knows if Hunter forced Biden to pardon him or else he’ll reveal damaging information.
“Both sides” is always applicable. Democrats caused serious harm to democracy when they attempted to install Harris after they bullied Biden to step down

61·11 months agoObviously. The point is, that if you make the product in the United States, you won’t pay the tariffs.
Who would have thought that importing a product from China is when the 30% tariffs would apply?
Biden never rolled back Trump’s 2017 Tariffs. Why didn’t he?
Oooooooooo

2·11 months agoYes , you’re right. The red giant will consume the Earth.
We won’t be alive if there’s a mass Exodus from earth, but is that even possible?
Probably not

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•We're not going to terraform Mars, but we're doing a good job of venusforming Earth.
32·11 months agoEarth has been around for 4.5 million years. Humans have only been around for 300,000 years approximately. With only a few hundred years of the industrial age.
Would a few hundred years really cause an extinction event?
That’s interesting to think about… Perhaps it’ll take a few hundreds/thousand years to fix. If it can be fixed… Or we get hit by an asteroid first…
Between cutting down all of the trees and other pollutants, like these so called environmentalists flying around in their own private jets, it’ll be fun for a while.
Either the humans will die off due to global warming/runaway greenhouse effect before interstellar travel is achieved, or the humans will die off due to the suns transformation into a red giant before interstellar travel is achieved.
IDK. Either way, we won’t be here for long. But the earth will be long after us.
Will technology save the human race beyond the two inevitable events? Probably not.
Nothing wrong with being proud of giving birth to a new life. Also nothing wrong with believing that you’re more than that. It becomes a problem when people start forcing their beliefs on others.

You went as far as posting your own source about the Bible, but you’re too lazy to look up the other topics?
Illinois is offering $9,000 and furnished apartments to migrants to help them get started, for example.
Transgender youth receiving surgeries is rare, I’ll admit, but that doesn’t stop the white house from opposing trans gender surgery bans from ages 6-17.
And force people to read the Bible? That’s a bit too far however.
You can search for those topics. Have a good day

News@lemmy.world•'This Maniac Must Be Stopped': Netanyahu Condemned Over Massive Beirut Bombing
246·1 year agoDo people hate Netanyahu because Trump supports him or because of his actions? Kinda like how people hate Putin because they think he’s friends with Trump?

M137 understood what I meant.
I believe that people are born with the same primitive instincts as everyone else, (survive and reproduce) but they gradually begin to develop their own feelings and sense of being. Some natural, some by trauma, etc, overcoming the expectations of your parents being the biggest hurdle.
I’m just simply saying that people aren’t born knowing they’re a part of that community until they’ve come to a realization or a spark.
Just my opinion. Just how I observed a family member and his experiences. Sadly, no one accepted him and he’s gone now. But I read his journals about how he felt, came to being, etc afterwards. Just wanted to understand.
