If the non-critical parts were scriptable like the infotainment system, then I could get behind it. Kind of like android I guess where you’re free to tinker, but you have to enable developer mode first so regular people can’t accidentally break something.

this is why Apple is worth the money. they once broke my display cable while doing a battery replacement and gave me a new phone on the spot for free. the quality of service is unmatched.

no to both, they are actually one of the best computers you can buy now. they brought the magnetic connector back, there are plenty of ports and the keyboard is good again.

look up the specs and see for yourself. the new pro model is higher performance than the M1 chip
