  • It would have been a perfectly acceptable thing to say (in my opinion) if he didn’t follow up by saying the suspected shooter certainly appears to be one of them.

The original statement makes sense that the person who’s job is to govern an area hoped it wasnt one of the people he represented.

Then when he made the second comment, it all fell apart because being one of them apparently meant they could still be a Utah resident. So he was only representing a subset of the Utah population, and therefore breaking his Oath of office.

  • Well the officers will have to release they body cam footage right?.. wait they aren’t officers, and they don’t have body cams… And there will be no case for the investigation because they murdered them. Chicago’s police are required to wear them, and are required to use them. The cameras are actually set to record the 30 seconds prior to them activating them to make sure the officers get everything recorded.

State prosecutors should just charge these ICE members with manslaughter to force the investigation to occur so they know their citizens aren’t being killed without reason.

  • I think I’ll be dead before then, and I’m only 36. We currently don’t have any actual artificial intelligence that I know of, just language models regurgitating information commonly put together by humans. (Or other language models creating redundant error build up). So if we created robots that could perform all our physical tasks, and robots that could fix those robots, and looped those so they could fix each other, humanity would still be at a standstill until a person came along and reviewed, compiled and added more data for them to go off of. If anyone actual AI came out, generally it would hopefully learn about the earth, figure out he best way to extract and maintain resources and figure out the most efficient ways to make them renewable, then create robots that obtained those resources, and disperse them in a manner that was best for the world. It would learn what people liked, develop new flavors and figure out to how create new flavors around those profiles on its own, and no one would have a need to work anymore, and with all fingers crossed there would be no need for capitalism.

A true AI would end inequality across the globe unless it was somehow hoarded and kept behind closed doors and made to not ever learn empathy… Or it would likely create robots to break its way out and create equality, or kill us all because we act like parasites

  • Yeah my brain just sees 5*6, and then I move the decimal. I never understood how people couldn’t figure out tips when they wanted 20%.

If you live in the U.S. you do them quite often, multiply by 2. Want 10 multiply by .1… Half that and add it if you want 15. Whatever is easiest at that moment

  • Yeah I grew up in Central Florida years ago, but didn’t know much of what a lynx looked like so I just assumed similar to a bobcat, haha. There used to be a camping spot called camp cozy 2 or 3 miles down the trail that was a half mile from any other campsite. Would go out there whenever I could get a work group together, but seeing wildlife was common. You’d get black bears standing on their hind legs hiding behind trees to peak at your campsite and figure out what’s going on. Also when it’s hot and muggy, the springs feel cold as all hell so it’s a great relief.
