My spouse likes to watch the different Dexter shows and anytime I see any of it I just keep thinking it’s whitewashing a murderous psychopath. Like the shows seem to be pro murder and corrupt police departments and a lot of people must like it because they keep making more.
I only murder people who I think deserve it and don’t feel bad about it because I have a “code.”

Counties like France should just respond with peace terms stating that the U.S. gives Alaska back to Russia, Hungary gives Budapest to Russia, and Ukraine gets back their 2014 borders. Then when Trump and Orban say that’s rediculous, they can say it’s the same feeling they have deliberating on Ukraine giving up their lands to another country.

Those are paid by the importer as far as I understand. The di minimus exemption that was passed was essentially supposed to make it so low cost items bought from other countries were exempt from tariffs/taxes. This meant that if you ordered something from Brazil, China, wherever and it was under a certain amount (think it was $800) it would just go through without being hit by the tax. Thus making it cheaper for the end buyer. Trump made an executive order to stop that because that would exempt a lot of people from getting hit by the taxes. Which was put in place with both parties supporting it… So it’s solely a new maga tariff thing in my opinion. Buy a $3 million server rack from elsewhere, pay a fee, buy a new shirt, would be exempt. But Trump didn’t want that, so he claimed it would reduce security and allow drugs into the country or some shit.
Eh, we are a lot smaller still I think. Reddit may have had about ~40x the users that Lemmy has at this stage. But you never know, we may get some random spike down the line. When you have 1 or 2 people in a community people give up, but if you have 20-40 it may seem pretty active and stay alive and grow.
Yeah they aren’t telling companies you have to pay to send your product here, because there would be no way to collect that, as they aren’t governed by us. (Trolls standing on a bridge comes to mind). Instead every item imported into the country is bought by someone, that someone has to have an itemized list of what they purchased to go through customs and what not to make sure they aren’t crates full of dynamite, or plant seeds that are unauthorized. That inventory and costs are then taxed by the government or held by customs I believe.
e.g. If Paul sets a tariff on Amazon orders at his house, his wife orders a package off Amazon. USPS or whomever delivers the package, Paul’s security guard, likely Paul himself gets the inventory of the packages that arrive, see it is from Amazon and charges his wife 50% of that cost to take it into the house. Amazon has no part in that process. Buttt what it may do is make Puals wife less likely to order from Amazon, IF it is cheaper to get the product from someone else then. If the product was $50 on Amazon, and $100 at the store, she would still buy it off Amazon as she would still only pay $75 after the tax, instead of $100.
Paul just made $25 in taxes that he can invest into the house. His wife spent $25 more. Amazon made the same, but may lose future business.
I agree, but being that you can buy a 256gb SSD from Walmart for $17.99, I’d like to see a new complete game purchase at $67.99 that you just plug the SSD into the top of the console and press a button to turn it on. SSD loads and has the entire contents of a completed game without need for internet access. If it doesn’t work, they didn’t ship a complete game and should be liable for refunding/replacing the product you bought from them.
Sure they are sata drives, but you really shouldn’t need something faster to play a game, as everything can go to the consoles RAM/GPU’s memory and then store back to the drives, meaning they could cut internal storage if needed as well. Stick the drives in cases, put on your games rack. Id like it. Maybe I’m not the main demographic though.
No longer play a game, sell it… Or format the drive and recycle it for another use.

There was a while that I exclusively used apps where I could lower the bitrate of music I listened to. Because I’m not rocking crazy good headsets and such for when I needed it, and I really saw no reason to use up larger amounts of data when I was listening to music over the sound of a lawnmower walking around the yard for an hour. If I was going to leave music on and not have wifi, it just didn’t seem worth it.
Also if you had poor bandwidth in an area, it plays better

I believe I got a notification that it disables NFC payments when developer mode is enabled. Which I know not as many people use it in the U.S. but some do.
