That is just exploding with irony.

If a million porn sites can make streaming video work, then YouTube is replaceable.

What were the hateful / threatening messages? Why would anyone have a problem with helping developers find new jobs? Why were those developers fired in the first place?
NutWrench@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why did people in the 90s/early 00s say that the internet "couldn't be taken down"?8·9 months agoAuthoritarian regimes must control the flow of information if they want to continue to exist. Just because they can disconnect themselves from the rest of the world doesn’t mean they’ve "taken down the Internet. "

Maybe a second coroner’s opinion is in order.
This. As a juror, you can absolutely vote to not convict someone if you think they’re being prosecuted under an unjust law. Just don’t mention “jury nullification” in front of a judge or prosecutors. They hate that.
I know his name. Muad’Dib!

Yeah, I guess. Fark getting any work done today.

And if folks are worried that their computer’s hardware won’t be supported (wifi, touchscreen, mousepad, soundcard or a weird mobile graphics driver) I recommend testing it by booting from a live linux flash drive. If everything works with the live version, it should work with the installed version, too.

They’re using YOU to train their AI models.
I think the best way to make the Internet less sh*tty is to get away from Google search.
I like the SearX search engine. It gives old-school, relevant search results, not google ranked ones.
It’s also spread out over many separate instances, so you can pick the one that best suits your search needs:

2024 14 million registered Democrats didn’t vote in this election because Harris just didn’t “do it” for them. But since they HAD registered, they were prepared to vote.
I’m starting to detect a really stupid, petty pattern, here.

NutWrench@lemmy.worldto HistoryPorn@lemmy.world•Aerial photo of a drive-in theater in South Bend, Indiana, 1950sEnglish92·10 months agoI agree. This is NOT a drive in theater. The screen is way too small and it should be rectangular, not square. Also, about half the cars are parked in ways where they can’t see the screen.
This is either a car storage area that had the screen shopped in or someone told an AI “make me a vintage photo of a 1950s drive in,” and the AI added the screen and the (badly parked) cars without understanding how a drive in is supposed to work.
Collect all your evidence into one large archive, upload it somewhere and make it known that if you die of anything other than natural causes, that information will become available to EVERYONE.
Read up on how “dead man’s switches” work. If you don’t send a signal online, log into a particular account on a regular basis, that sends the release signal.
