  • There is debate, but th generally accepted difference is:

Bisexual people like men, women, non binary, however the gender presentation can enter into the “attraction”. IE, if you like girls, you only like girls who present as X.

Pan sexual, th gender presentation is not part of it they are attracted to someone. It’s more about >this person< than about generalities.

Source: am Bi, have many bi and pan friends.

Bisexuality is NOT trans/non binary exclusionary as a general rule (people are still sometimes assholes).

Also you can be bi and be in a heteronormative relationship.

  • It was NOT found to be untrue. Full stop.

It was found to be unsubstantiated. If you have experience with these types of investigations, that’s the most common outcome.

In order to substantiate it, there must be evidence multiple years after the fact.

Considering the poor data retention LTT has to it’s critical data, I seriously doubt their email/IM archives are much better. People forget, leave the company, etc.

They don’t interview former employees, except the subject/person who made the allegations.

These firms aren’t going to find evidence the majority of their investigations.

Considering the person who supposedly conducted th sexual harassment follows alt right manosphere people AND made a sexual joke during the sexual harassment meeting they had (I wonder why an employee recorded this meeting?) I’d consider the person who made the allegations is most likely to be truthful.

If you look at prosecution data of sexual assault, rape, etc you’ll see that the vast majority of cases go unprosecuted due to lack of evidence.

While this is slightly different, it is an interpersonal issue and hard records are unlikely

  • Why no physical backup?

I like the way US states that are (slowly) rolling out digital IDs.

First, the physical id is not being replaced.

Second, the digital ids only work in small subsets Until it’s rolled out to more areas.

For example, Californias only allows usage for proving you are over 21 (the app shows a Boolean flag to the person checking your id so it’s actually MORE private) or at select airports for domestic flights.

I am of the opinion that we CAN have a digital ID with some simple privacy items in place and ALWAY allowing a physical backup or opt out.

All of this “think of the children” digital surveillance could be partially mitigated by allowing OIDC like (stripping out unneeded information) that allows anyone to integrate an age check, Id verification, etc without much information being sent to the other apps.

Of course, this doesn’t solve the government knowing your business, but if physical backups were mandated it would help.

I think these age gates are short sighted and don’t do a lot to solve the issues, as it pushed people “underground”, just like prohibition in the states, and causes more issues.

Edit: just occurred to me, we could use a physical hardware key (like a passkey) to prove your age cryptographically without involving government apis.

You plug the fob into your phone, computer, etc. push the button and you are good…

  • Colorblind is removing their identity.

You are still a black, white, brown, etc. person (I’m using {color} from now on cause I don’t want to type an array of colors each time). The person’s experiences as a {color} person are valid.

While you shouldn’t treat someone different because they are {color}, you should validate that they ARE different and celebrate those differences in an appropriate fashion.

It’s like a friend coming out to you and you reply “I don’t care”, while that is not the worst way to respond and you mean well, you are invalidating WHO they are.

I think this is much more eloquently illustrates my point: https://youtu.be/91O7q7D4xnU
