The war started in when they/their families were forced from their homes with only what they could carry so that Jewish people could have Israel. It never stopped because from their POV Israel never stopped murdering them and stealing their land.

If you understand the above you should be able to grasp why they see Hamas as a resistance force. We now look at the French resistance to the German occupation as “the good guys” in that conflict. Had Germany won WWII we might look at the French resistance as “the bad guys”.

Your perspective on who is and isn’t right in this conflict isn’t as black and white as you are making it out to be.
