Have you heard of face blindness? I have kind of the same thing but with cars. As long as it’s the same color, they all look more or less the same to me unless they have bumper stickers. I also travel a lot for work, so I’m constantly getting new rentals that are all a bit different, so I never remember what I’m driving.
Those factors combined with having a poor awareness of where I am in physical space and time most days has caused me to get into the wrong car way more times than I’d like to admit. I’m just going to say it’s well into the double digits.
It’s kind of surprising how many people just leave their cars completely unlocked. I always lock mine, and when the door just opens after I hit the button to unlock my car, I assume I’m getting into the right one until it feels wrong when I sit down or if I try to put the key in the ignition and it doesn’t fit. The number of times this has happened would be higher if more people didn’t lock their cars. I quickly realize it’s the wrong car if I try to unlock it and it doesn’t unlock.
Luckily there’s a racing game that came out this year that answered this long asked question.

3·1 year agoThat wasn’t clear from their comment. The link for Idiocracy didn’t help that since that movie focuses on eugenics.
For education, sure, but while the data shows more educated voters voted for Harris, it isn’t nearly as big of a gap as it should be. Slightly over 2/5ths of college educated voters voted for Trump, likewise slightly over 2/5ths of uneducated voters voted for Harris. The media likes to hype that divide along with all the others, but that’s a shit ton of people on both sides.

266·1 year agoThis is eugenics propaganda. It is slightly hidden in a way of not using the blatant language of “superiority” and forcing it on people, but the base idea boils down to breeding traits such as higher intelligence into (or out of in this case) people like what is done (was attempted) with animals. This is eugenics. Please do not spread eugenics.
Eugenics does not work. There’s a lot of information on the topic, but here’s a 10-minute primer: https://youtu.be/kMBriCmiTu0
TL;DW Studies show genetics plays a very minor role in intelligence in humans with socioeconomic factors being the main driver. Eugenics may be able to breed certain traits in/out, but that results in the extreme detriment of others. Consider dog breeding and all the health issues breeds have who were bred for a handful of specific tasks/traits.

3·1 year agoWow, small world. I’m in Terre Haute a couple times a year for business and will be out there again in a few weeks. I’m amazed it’s a problem there too.
AMAB is Assigned Male at Birth meaning typically born with genitalia interpreted as a penis but is sometimes due to parents/doctor choosing if the baby’s genitalia is not a penis or vagina.
Likewise, AFAB is Assigned Female at Birth meaning typically born with genitalia interpreted as a vagina but is sometimes due to parents/doctor choosing if the baby’s genigalia is not a penis or vagina.
You seem like a good and reasonable person, and I’m glad you’re aware of your feelings and not reacting super negatively towards the existence of trans people over them. I’d recommend thinking through this a bit more sometime.
Sure, most people are only into men or women, but most people don’t start off getting to know someone before sex is on the table with a “by the way, what genitals do you have?” That feels reductive and is a major red flag to most trans people. It’s similar to how chasers who pursue trans women with a penis as a fetish. We’re so much more than our genitals.
In case you ever end up in sex talks with someone who either at that moment comes out as trans or mentions what genitals they have, handle that conversation delicately. Many of us and don’t want the genitals we have but surgery is too expensive, but we also don’t want to have sex with someone agonizing over our genitals or don’t want that part interacted with at all if we do. This is also why many trans people date within the trans community to alleviate these kinds of issues.
Lucky for you, some trans people who are AMAB get surgery to change that penis into a vagina or something else. There are also plenty of gender fluid or nonbinary trans people who are AFAB and don’t have or want a penis.
However, maybe get to know someone first and decide if you are attracted to them as a person before reducing them to their genitals. There are a lot of ways to have sex with trans people, and if you’re into them, they’re into you and they happen to have a penis, I’m sure you two can figure something out.
“Too blessed to be depressed” - they’re a Christian fundamentalist who is depressed but trying to convince themselves otherwise. You should run.
And Battle Royale totally ripped off Hunger Games
If you’re into kink at all, I remember kink.com being great about picking out people into kink with various fantasies and organizing the shoot for them to live it out in a safe and healthy environment. They have several BDSM resources for those interested in getting into it safely and have a focus on consent.
I haven’t really watched porn in years though, so no idea if they’re still as good as they were. Now I mostly just read it, appreciate the art of pics, and exist in kink/sex positive spaces.

Memes@lemmy.ml•When JohnSmith126754 starts defending Tim Allen.. Ps Tim Allen a POS if you didn't know.
51·2 years agoI recently saw an ad for another installment in the awful franchise that is The Santa Clause.
I’m amazed people still watch Tim Allen let alone that many sequels into a well overdone concept.

Find a hobby you’re interested in if you don’t have one already. Find a group in your area that meets up to discuss or engage in that hobby in person. Make friends with the people in that group by just existing around them and talking about your shared interest. Maybe one of those friendships turns into a relationship, maybe not.
Don’t think of the people there as potential partners but as people you like spending time with and genuinely enjoy being around. If one of those friendships has mutual attraction and becomes a partnership, that’s great! If not, you’ll probably meet other people through them and maybe one of those will turn into a relationship.
Examples of hobbies for introverts that provide more structure for interaction and can have limited talking if needed:
