Write endurance is based on the entire drive. If you had the drive mostly full, fully formatted with no overprovisioning, and kept using a small portion of the drive, it matches your expected lifespan. You maybe did a little better than expected.

Each part is a closed system, with the PC an open system so long as you have fans. The heat sink temp over ambient could be what you are looking for, but that still would not work that way if you are looking at hot spot temps. If you tried to run a thread ripper at 500W in a closed space the air temp would end up hotter than than a 350W Graphics card. But the CPU if not throttling would have a temp over ambient of about 30c and the gpu core would be about 45c over ambient. The effect on your room will be that the 500W cpu raises the ambient temp more than the 350W gpu over the same period of time. The air in your room is what is cooling the components. Air at a given humidity has a specific heat capacity and will be your limiting factor. With your bath example you would need to have a much larger capacity of 60c water to melt the ice since the specific heat of water doesn’t change when a liquid.
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the 1st law of thermodynamics and what a “system” is as relating to the 2nd.
For your HDD you want them to run 45-60c. running them colder will impact their life span. The drive will try to heat up if under 30c to prevent damage.

A watt into your room is the same no matter the temp the part runs at.
I have never seen a negative review that was not price or shipping/doa. They cost about 30% more, and that may or may not be worth it to you. If you want proper Linux support or working power states in windows; it is likely worth it.
Being an accelerationist makes even more your fault. It is bullshit the primary was skipped, but no progressives even tried to run there so you would have a similar choice.

So that’s everyone at the moment and that means that you can’t have phones locked when they’re purchased. They can lock the phones they’re under contracts if you finance the phone. Then they don’t have to remove that until the phone is completely paid off. What’s been going on over the last 4 or 5 years is the company will give you a subsidy for the phone even if you pay it off in full and then claim that that subsidy is part of a financing deal. So they’ll put a fake price and be like the phone cost $1,200 but we’ll sell it to you for $800. Then when you pay off the 800 right when you walk out the door you’re still getting a subsidy that directly pays for that extra $400 they gave you off that wasn’t part of the actual price. If you ever go to change service they automatically use the rest of that monthly subsidy immediately to pay off the phone keep that on the phone since the cost is the same as the subsidy for each month you have the phone untill it’s paid off.
If you have Verizon they have been blocking phones even if they’re not allowed to do that claiming that any phone not purchased through them or the model number that they sell in the store is not compatible with their Network and needs to be evaluated for security. Then they make it a pain in the ass to get your phone approved to be on their Network and it can take up to 90 days even if it’s the same phone just the “unlocked” version with a different model number. This was less of an issue when the FCC rules for GSM based carriers were being enforced, but under Trump and Bush they were not enforcing the rules. And until LTE we had two carriers that were not using GSM based technology so they were not covered by the rules.
Allo didn’t ever make sense. What about Hangouts. Hangouts worked with imessage. And also works better than allo did And also works better than aloe did at any pointat any point.

I would have been issued a work iPhone since it’s what I had working as a contingent worker with them so I do not understand.
Zanz@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•Apple announced RCS with a whimper when it should have been a bangEnglish728·1 year agoSo long as the green bubble still exist there’s no reason for Android users to celebrate either. I had to change to iPhone because it was costing me job opportunities. And I won’t be able to switch back until the green bundle is gone. Apple knows this so without legal action they’re never going to end that.
Did you enable CSM? By default you should never see a device to boot from and should only see valid UEFI targets.
A pound at one gravity is equivalent to 2.2 kg at 1 gravity. Outside of aerospace there’s not really a need to distinguish between mass and weight so it kind of gets used interchangeably.
It just bothers me when people complain about units and then use the wrong kind of unit.

The only device you likely come in contact with with Android TV is the new Chromecast or a Sony TV. Other than the Nvidia shield and the Chromecast most actual Android TV devices still come with malware from the manufacturer. Even the Sony TVs, but basically every Smart TV comes with malware to spy on what you’re doing too.
I think the new dish network’s at top box also runs Android TV, maybe you found one of those wild.
Zanz@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•Thousands of Android TV devices come with unkillable backdoor preinstalledEnglish21·2 years agoCan you even get an actual Android TV device now that isn’t a Chromecast or an Nvidia shield? Other than a few TVs that mostly come with malware (tcl, Sony, Hisense) I can’t think of anything else that has actual Android TV you can buy as a consumer.
Pounds are a measure of weight (force) not mass like grams. Stone is the imperial measure of mass and slug is the standard unit (US unit). In metric Newtons would be equivalent to pounds.

Apple would be fine with selling “modules” as they consider their devices to be top case, bottom case, motherboard, battery, and screen (has stuff attached.) If they can have a needs calibration some where to shame 3rd party repairs and not allow board level repair it is just what they wanted.
Majority of the world uses YYYY-MM-DD. Day 1st makes no sense. If you need the month or year it should come 1st. You need to zoom into what you need not select from any number of months with the same day. That would be like putting time with seconds 1st.
You can leave 10% of the drive unformatted. A good drive will move rarely written cells data to high use locations. You could also reformat every couple years and instal based on the least changing stuff first. Next time you buy an ssd stay away from qlc or plc as they have less lifetime. Tlc is about as good as you can get now.
For now, I would retire that drive and use it for games you don’t uninstall.
