Addiction. It’s an addiction you have to break.

It is subjective, and I agree almost every game is better on a handheld. Even when I have the option to play on my gaming PC at the desk or on the TV, I’ll play on Steam Deck or stream to Steam Deck just for the handheld experience.

I’ve even gotten to the point of playing some RTS games on it with a lot of customized controller profile stuff. It’s very intimate and comfortable and looks nice.

They barely did Steam Link (the little physical streaming box from like 2015) and ended production quickly and the remaining units were heavily discounted, and they still send updates for it.

It’s one of many reasons I like Steam and have moved more towards Steam gaming and away from Playstation.

I’m home constantly. I have a nice gaming PC with a comfy chair AND a nice big screen TV.

I got the original asap and then upgraded to OLED asap. Both were absolutely worth it. I almost play on it more than anything. I even stream the more graphic heavy games from desktop to Steam Deck, and stream PS5 or PS Plus Streaming games to my Steam Deck.

Handheld gaming is just nicer for me. More comfortable. More personal. I can see everything better. Everything looks more crisp on it.

I have no real use case for one and am basically never mobile yet I use it like crazy.

Meanwhile people still play the few popularity games and it never ends.

All I can think of is Nintendo trying to sue this post or something.

The Bethesda remake is supposedly using some Frankenstein of the original engine shoved into unreal. It’ll suck.

Though in their defense, it’s not being done by Bethesda at all. It’s being done by some studio who has mainly only done support work for other studios bigger games. I think called Virtuoso?

A long time ago, I read one of their developers say you require the original games since the mod is specifically designed not to re-provide you with any copyright material from either game, and in fact I think it’ll look for and use the files you have like any other mod.

This was done on purpose so they can never worry about being shut down or sued if they ensure they never wrongly re-use or provide copyrighted materials. Probably a smart move for such a massive undertaking.

Maybe life isn’t binary choices arbitrarily dreamed up so you can Boomer-judge others to deflect your projecting from your own insecurities.

Also applies to most major events. Sporting events. Conventions. Music shows.

I feel like Joker is one of those movies that needed to be on its own. It doesn’t feel like a Batman universe movie. It feels like a movie about some kind of mental illness that they slapped Batman related stuff on.

TOTK looks and runs like crap. Also the world feels bland and empty compared to most other open world RPG’s. At least a little effort from Nintendo would go a long way, but especially climbing some mountains with crappy textures and jagged edges looks eerily similar to a lot of PS2 games I still play.
