Reading the reports, amanita and datura are two experiences that never really interested me too much.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What communities would you like to see on Lemmy?English
3·1 day agoI’m sure they are there somewhere, but my fellow hardware synthesizer/sampler geeks where do you chat? The music production communities I’ve visited here have been pretty slow and/or more DAW/software focused (I know, be the change), but also the music community seems a bit unique in that there’s still a decent amount of old school forums still kicking.

Games@sh.itjust.works•The post-GeForce era: What if Nvidia abandons PC gaming?English
92·4 days agoGames and gaming have fully become like Hollywood and Silicon Valley and I expect zero good things from them at this point. As with movies and music, now most of the good stuff will be from individuals and smaller enterprises. The fact is today’s GPUs have enough power to do extraordinary things. The hardware these days moves so fast, no one is squeezing any performance out of anything like they used to have to do. And not every game needs photo realistic ray traced graphics, so these GPUs will be fine for many gamers so long as they remain supported through drivers.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should leftists who are anti-authoritarian use the term "comrade"?English
5·4 days agoOOof good luck, I tried to say that all the soviet imagery was off-putting to people who might be interested in socialism, in the interest of more widespread support. No one liked that idea at all, seem more interested in making memes.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My mom says that people who don't have "value" don't deserve to live and that "depression" is just an excuse for laziness. What's is your rebuttal for it?English
5·6 days agoFrom your posts it sounds like you really just need to get away from your family, sorry.
Ah yes because some things needed eXtended memory and some needed exPanded memory, and some things didn’t like drivers being loaded into high memory and some things didn’t like other things to be on certain ports or interrupts haha.
Ahaha good point it’s making a comeback!
Jumpers, IRQ conflicts, out of memory for your drivers and program at the same time. Still hella fun. The front panel used to be an unlabeled, unstandardized mess.
Ok what is up with the middle panel?

Technology@lemmy.world•US tech firm Palantir extends deal with French intelligence agencyEnglish
9·15 days agoDoomsday cult Palantir? I guess there are no scruples anymore so long as the other guy has what you want, I personally would think twice about having dealings with a company where the founder is giving private lectures about the antichrist.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Judging by how many users on the internet telling Americans to "just move to another country lolz", people must think immigration laws are very lax or something... (it's not)English
17·18 days agoIt’s not even just the laws, it’s very expensive to move.

Technology@lemmy.world•Evidence That Humans Now Speak in a Chatbot-Influenced Dialect Is Getting StrongerEnglish
46·23 days agoFucking try me, I’ve done it my whole life so far. I really don’t care what you find odd about me. Just because I don’t use the technology doesn’t mean I don’t understand it, and that is precisely why I don’t use it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Pebble maker announces Index 01, a smart-ish ring for under $100English
6·23 days agoI’m practical I suppose. I have a tool that does this already cheaply, why do I need a product likely made by slaves in a sweat shop, with materials people are going to wars over, that will end up in a landfill because it broke or is deprecated in less than a few years?
