The thing that baffled me about that movie was how many “startups” used it as reference for what they were trying to create. Like, did I watch the same movie? Real life was so shitty they had entire blocks of people living in trailers mounted to each other vertically. They used the matrix or whatever it was called to escape. And you want to create that for real?

They haven’t been since they got raked from COVID-19 and shutdowns tanking their stocks in 2020. So they price gouge with inflation and shrinkflation, keep prices high to make up the difference and fuck us over. Then they keep the prices artificially high, raising prices on entertainment, force people back to the office, and use those as talking points to tank democrat campaigns.
They’ve been openly at war for the last 5-years or so. Just like Gaza, you can only trap people in misery for so long before they lose just enough to make it worth fighting back with violence. We’re on the cusp of that backlash and I have a feeling the next 4+ years are gonna see the blowup.
They ain’t seen nothing yet if they make this dude a martyr. I’m not a violent person, but there’s a pent up frustration inside a lot of us just itching for a reason to come out and redistribute some wealth. Stock of United Healthcare still in the shitter? That was rich people losing billions.
That’s the only thing these parasites care about: their life and their money. We have been shown that any of us have the power to take away both in a single act of targeted violence. Once we collectively realize that, shit will go down.

The source code for keyshare.link is out there and it does exactly what you talk about, but using reddit user access. Maybe someone could work within the license to code a similar tool for Lemmy users.
