• their chosen party destroying perceptions of safety and desirability to popular tourist destinations by claiming they are warzones while he deploys precious military resources to create said zones,
• their chosen party arresting, deporting and discouraging the employment base of hotels and restaurants. No one else is going to do the work.
• their chosen party doing incalculable damage to the reputation of the US higher education system and it’s reputation by removing science and academic freedom norms by trying to politicize science, admission and revoke the first amendment.
• their chosen party during travel into dystopian reality where social media accounts, your sexuality or your political beliefs determine how or whether you may be admitted to the US.

Airlines will be devastated with reduction in local (poverty wages, can’t afford flights) and international travelers. Hotels will suffer as they should. I hope restaurant owners are decimated.

I work in HR. It’s the equivalent of firing the restaurant employee for eating food untouched by a customer that was going to be thrown out. Meanwhile, the restaurant owner underpays his employees, lies on taxes, the manager is sleeping with the bartender, the suppliers are providing toxic food, the kitchen is an OSHA nightmare, the building has rats, it failed FDA and displaced affordable housing. But yeah, that is the dude who should be punished because he’s poor.

I’ve never used it but it’s just because it’s Chinese, social media from any other company based in any other country is just as fucked and unhealthy and unregulated in the US, but they are going to ban it specifically for its country of origin. China pills a lot of weight and the company tiktok is powerful and fighting it in court and all but it seems pretty obvious it’ll go through even under current admin watch–let alone when a direct competitor and owner of Xitter owns the White House.

Americans are bad at geography but shit are people from the east Coast some of the worst. They have “center of the universe syndrome” and have no idea about the rest of the country. I was looking to relocate to the East Coast about 10 years ago and had 3 interviews with different companies in NY, DC and PHL where the company failed to call me at the correct time, sometimes multiple instances, as they couldn’t understand the time difference.

Doesn’t everyone fucking learn about the 4 continental time zones in school? Why is it confusing?
