Technology@lemmy.world•An AI-powered copyright tool is taking down AI-generated Mario picturesEnglish
78·1 year agoIsn’t this the same broken AI that has been striking youtube videos about Minecraft clients? Why is every company suddenly using this?
Edit: Yes it is. I really don’t know what to say anymore. Imagine applying youtube’s broken copyright system to the entire internet, but even worse.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•lemmy.world blocked the largest piracy community in all of lemmyEnglish
14·2 years agoBasically they blocked the communities but not the instances they were hosted on, so people on lemmy.world can still interact with posts and comments made by people like me

Memes@lemmy.ml•I like the interface, and have been a user of the reddit version for years...
21·2 years agoA lot of Lemmy consists of FOSS enthusiasts, so something that’s paid and proprietary wouldn’t look as good in their eyes.
There’s also the fact that the free version of Sync uses (Google?) ad tracking to show you ads, so those people would also be upset.

Man I was really hoping this wouldn’t be the answer I get - thanks for the link
