A lot of people attempt to get around repossessions by keeping it in their garage where you can’t get to it. Imagine now a car that has homelink automatically opening the garage door and backing itself out on to the driveway or street to be picked up.

ramble81@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?12·8 months agoThis clip from the Newsroom sums it up perfectly.
ramble81@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•South Korean police raid Jeju Air after fatal crash, CEO banned from leaving countryEnglish18·8 months agoNow there’s a dream I’d like to see become a reality in the US.
Because at the end of the day everything gets simplified to a 1 or a 0. You could store a fraction as an “object” but at some point it needs to be turned into a number to work with. That’s where floating points come into play.

ramble81@lemm.eeto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend64·8 months agoHe doesn’t, but you see in later comics he’s working at the funeral home and… well… it takes a couple turns.
Edit: For anyone who wants to read this specific arc.
Warning: it’s seriously fucked up.
ramble81@lemm.eeto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend19·8 months agoMegatokyo. That was a fun one until it turned into a dating sim visual novel because his partner left. Still not as bad as the hard right turn Sinfest made.
ramble81@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•US announces $5.9 billion in military and budget aid to UkraineEnglish171·8 months agoYou do know we can do more than one thing at time, right? Increase taxes on the rich, reduce subsidies for fossil fuels, those are just two off the top of my head. So, yes, strictly speaking you’re right that a certain amount can help offset things, but it doesn’t mean it needs to come from here.
Also, what do you mean by “we helped create”. Fairly certain the US didn’t tell Putin to go invade a sovereign country.
ramble81@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.ml•China’s new bullet train prototype sets global speed record at 450 km/h in test run - Hindustan Times5·8 months agoThat’s a bit disingenuous of a headline. They compared a prototype to an inservice production speed. As stated, other prototypes have exceeded 500km/h. Now if this goes into service it’ll hold the record there.
Makes me wish I had three hands.

After seeing how people acted during the pandemic, that part is probably the most realistic.

I count
- Palestine (enough other countries recognize them, I’m putting it)
- Syria
- Lebanon
- Iran
- Yemen
ramble81@lemm.eeto memes@lemmy.world•Do I have to build my own touchscreen thermostat?122·9 months agoWhich are all things you can easily do with an RPi and some simple python. My response was to OP stating that embedded systems are hard.
If you’re using a specific embedded system and want to make it pretty, sure that could pose some issues, but if you want to make something functional that matches what a smart thermostat can do, there’s not much behind it.
ramble81@lemm.eeto memes@lemmy.world•Do I have to build my own touchscreen thermostat?262·9 months agoExcept thermostats. You literally could do it with a Raspberry Pi, some 24V relays and a temperature sensors. Thermostats are not that hard.
So try not to knock up the chick with the green bush on St. Patrick’s Day?
ramble81@lemm.eetoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•The chocolate of the future will have less cocoa or none at allEnglish2·9 months agoAnd since I have to repeat myself, that’s what they did with wasabi and it worked. So now we have two anecdotal pieces of information, funny how that works.
ramble81@lemm.eetoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•The chocolate of the future will have less cocoa or none at allEnglish2·9 months agoIt’ll just end up like wasabi. You’ll have the real stuff which you’ll get sparingly and then you’ll get the stuff that tastes like it but it really just horseradish.
I absolutely abhor pugs and chihuahuas. Pugs because they shouldn’t exist (in their current form). It’d be like an alien breeding people with down syndrome because they found it “cute”. And as for chihuahuas, I just don’t like how tiny and yappy they are, no real logical reason there.
