Yikes.
Yikes.
Where are they getting $1.5 billion from? Is this business actually profitable?
Why is there even a plastic tray in the bag to begin with? That’s the really infuriating part. Stop with all the unnecessary plastic!
Could’ve paid for this previously using money from the feds. But instead they turned their nose at funding that came from “Biden”. Now it will have to come from fresh Texan tax payer money.
Trump was/is widely despised in the US. Even by many in his own party. All it takes is voter apathy, a cult following, and a political machine getting behind him.
It’s a horrible, horrible ruling, and I hope that it drags out in appeals long enough to reach someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
Maybe if they add 3D, people will buy them!

Good thing Fairlife is lactose free then I guess.
Good point. We do get some good local programming out of our NPR station.
As someone mentioned, that’s probably why they’ve been defunded recently. Can’t have anyone competing with the oligarch-controlled propaganda outlets!
Another one. Two more fell off an aircraft carrier. Maybe the military should hold a bake sale to pay for their replacements.

Being on Lemmy, I’ve noticed BBC News posts a lot of good environmental and local stories (because people post them here). I wish we’d see that in the US. All we get for news out of our conglomerates is regurgitated press releases, fear, murder, and war. The local news is just repeats of the national news repeated seven times per day.
We do have some local freebie newspapers that actually run local stuff. That’s about it though. Everything else is owned by the giant corporations. Luckily these smaller outlets have RSS feeds.
He sounds full of shit.
Discovery was such a waste of potential. They kept killing off the interesting characters and promoting the least interesting ones. Then the secret to saving the universe one season was rescuing a crying lonely alien. 🙄
Let’s hope it stays an “add on”.
I would hope it means the person who argued against an opt in for this feature got fired. Because you know that employee isn’t worth $95 million a year salary. And probably more than one person spoke up in meetings explaining why this wasn’t a good idea.
I’m more concerned about the architecture being prison-like than the fence. We don’t need barbed wire, but having a clear boundary for little ones to stay inside the grounds during recess is a good thing.
I really wish they’d bring back natural lighting and windows that open. During the school shooting in south texas, a lot of people escaped through the windows because the building was old (late 60s early 70s). During Covid, the Europeans opened the school windows to let in fresh air on a regular basis. You couldn’t do either in a lot of the newer school buildings.
We like music because it acts like a pleasurable drug. Probably something primitive and hormonal that is connected to mating (like birds do with bird song).
