Only very few economists favour rent control: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rent_regulation because it generally decreases the amount of available housing and has other deleterious effects. I say this as someone who benefitted personally from rent control.
Generally, increasing the supply of housing lowers its cost: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Housing_crisis There is discussion in there about zoning being a problem too.
I do think that we still need some policies to curb runaway housing asset appreciation (e.g. higher taxes on non-owner occupied housing).

I think Mario 64 was written by devs that had never written a game before? Maybe that was Goldeneye

Come to Australia then

He “loved” busting people for DUI. They need a psychologist to come in and tell them what validity means. Generally, however, DUI people need to have their licence removed permanently.

Good way to get your kids to not trust you with anything. You don’t get to override their preferences because you value their secret information differently.

White South Africans are the most openly and unabashedly racist people on the planet.

Honestly this is more of an insult than helpful for those of us who actually want to see this happen.

Bernie Sanders says Biden should 'very seriously' consider pre-emptive pardons191·9 months agoThe problem with this plan is that you can never get all edge cases. It’s almost like Pascal’s Wager. Pardons should go away entirely, IMO. If there is a problem with the justice system, fix the justice system. None of this selective amnesty shit.
Websites used to be like this. I hate modernity.

Feels good, games running faster than before even. The only thing that doesn’t work is the invasive anti cheat shit for multiplayer games. But I get merked every time in multiplayer so screw it
Any even partially publicly funded government code should be open sourced, just like the new rules for public funding and publishing of scientific research. If people actually paid attention this would crush my former local government department.
