undefined@lemmy.hogru.chto Technology@lemmy.world•‘I’m a modern-day luddite’: Meet the students who don’t use laptopsEnglish552·2 minutes agoI absolutely love doing everything on the computer and can’t stand writing things by hand anymore. I’ve always learned simply by listening — instructors that force students to take notes were the worst because I would be too busy scrambling to write things down than actually listen and learn.
All of this goes out the window when it comes to foreign language though. I have to do everything old school: textbooks, pencil and paper, and if it’s a non-Latin character set I have to write the same characters over and over for hours.

A small example of the low-level brain rot accept in Lemmy meme communities

I call that TikTok face, it’s the modern take on edginess.

Here’s how to protect yourself.7·2 days agoStep 2 is block all Meta products whether it’s IP address filtering or DNS blocking. Meta doesn’t care if you have an account, they’re usually the third party tracking you across apps and websites.
And no, an ad blocker in your browser doesn’t solve that. That only blocks their tracking within your browser.

Let’s imagine I only have a 20 Mbps connection and I have a someone on a FaceTime call, for sake of argument everyone else is downloading huge software updates. I want the call to be prioritized.
I understand the ISP will drop DSCP but internally my AP will translate that to WMM no? Again, my AP is fantastic but in theory I’d like it to prioritize the call’s packets. Those obviously pass through the router from WAN to LAN so I’m not understanding the argument that this should only be done based on host and port.
undefined@lemmy.hogru.chOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What Linux software is capable of marking DSCP on packets based on DPI?1·2 days agoThat’s my point — I’m trying to do this from a mini PC I use as a router and not the machine doing the actual VoIP stuff.

I’m talking about a specific level of brain rot mind you, I can accept the lower level that is typical of Lemmy meme communities but not quite corporate social network levels.
Can we please leave TikTok face on TikTok? I come here specifically to escape the brain rot.

It’s really fun though, I refer to our chihuahuas as “los perritos” but it sounds like “little farts” due to my pronunciation. Her family loves having me read things in Spanish poorly as if I don’t know the language (which is hard!).
It had only been 14 minutes when you took that screenshot

There are a lot of articles lately like “is AI alive?” Please, it’s 2025 and it can hardly do autocomplete correctly.
Yes you can, but the exact process is lost on me as I haven’t used Thunderbird in ages. It should be able to export your mailboxes into a standard format (is it mbox?) or if it’s only a few specific emails you should be able to export them individually as
.eml
files.
