This is an interesting question. Just about every announcement I’ve seen so far has been for a read-only interface (for example, a paralyzed person envisioning moving his hand to make a robot arm move), but this Biohybrid one specifically mentions that they applied a signal (light) to the sensor to see if the mice would respond biologically.

My biggest problem with microblogging sites is that I have never been able to get a good, interesting content feed out of them without also getting lots of noise. Following hashtags usually gives me a mountain of retweets (or whatever) and trying to follow groups of related people/subject matter experts gives me lots of irrelevant content. Community-style social media forces people to more strictly categorize their content, I think.
It makes me think of Fahrenheit 451 where everyday people would sometimes become bit actors in these long form tv/hologram shows and describe the other actors as their friends and family, even though they never actually interacted beyond the scripted bits.
This is an east coast vs west coast thing more than timezone pacific, but the ocean on the east coast is way warmer thanks to the Gulf Stream. I’ve been surfing in SoCal in the middle of summer and the water was freezing vs surfing in NY in May and it was tolerable (still cold tho).

There are at least one or two Lemmy users who add a CC or non-AI license footer to their posts. Not that it’s do anything, but it might be fun to try and get the LLM to admit it’s illegally using your content.

Yes, that’s a good point, I think the thunderbolt out only works on the iGPU, so I’m assuming that to get dual external monitors (HDMI and usb-c) the bare metal OS (Linux) will have to be running at least the iGPU.
I guess that also begs the question: X or Wayland in this scenario?
We have these at airports in the US for luggage carts - though they don’t return any of your money if you bring the cart back they l’ve seen, so it doesn’t do much to modify behavior.
Freaking people who leave their carts in a parking spot… Straight to the top of the list!
